PET SPECIFIC

ALL PETS WELCOME

At Heidi’s Halo, we believe every pet deserves love and care, no matter their species, breed, age, special needs, or disabilities. We will never discriminate—if you can’t be there, we will.

MEDICATIONS

We’re happy to administer medications as long as they are in pill form and can be given with pill pockets or another easy method. However, for safety reasons, we do not place medications directly into a pet’s mouth. We’re also experienced in medicating aquarium water with drops or spreads and can properly administer reptile food or water medications through dustings or droplets.

LEASH AND COLLAR POLICY

For the safety of your pet, we do not allow retractable leashes. If your dog normally walks with one, we ask that you provide a standard leash no longer than six feet. While we understand that many dogs walk with a collar, we strongly encourage and prefer to walk dogs on a harness—especially the little ones. Safety and control always come first!

WEATHER CONDITIONS

We’re committed to showing up in any weather, because your pet’s needs don’t stop when the weather gets tough. If it’s cold, we encourage you to provide a sweater or coat for your dog (and yes, we’ll happily put booties on them too). On hot days, we never walk dogs on black pavement when the sun is out to prevent burns and overheating. If severe snow or thunderstorms prevent a full walk, we’ll make sure your pet gets a proper potty break and spend the rest of the time giving them attention and playtime inside.

VACCINATIONS

We respect that every pet’s health journey is unique, and vaccinations may or may not be the right choice depending on age, health conditions, or other factors. We do, however, require that all dogs using our walking services are up to date on their vaccinations for the safety of all pets in our care.

EXOTIC SPECIES DIETS

We love exotic pets and are happy to accommodate a variety of diets! Whether your pet enjoys insects, specialty foods, or unique feeding routines, we’re here for it. We’re not afraid of bugs and will gladly serve up a creepy-crawly meal for your reptile, amphibian, or exotic pet. However, out of an abundance of caution, we do not feed live rodents during visits to prevent any accidental escapes in your home.

At Heidi’s Halo, we provide pet care that fits modern life—flexible, compassionate, and tailored to your pet’s needs. Because every animal deserves to be cared for with the same love and devotion we would give our own.
